The Origin of Fortune Cheese Cookies

Before we begin, surely Prochiz Lovers are wondering why it called a Fortune Cookie? Why is this cookie believed to be a profitable cookie in various countries, such as the United States, Japan, and even China?

Well, previously, Fortune Cheese Cookies was often found in public places, such as restaurants and homes. This cookie is wrapped in plastic and contains a piece of paper inside it. It is on this paper that there is a fortune writing for the person who eats it. Before it was named Fortune Cookie, this cookie was called Tea Cake.

However, after World War 2 this cake was renamed fortune cake aka Fortune Cookie.  The writing on the paper in this cake is often also believed to be motivational words for those who ate it.

Although this cake is more commonly found in China and on Chinese New Year events, it turns out that Fortune Cookie does not come from the Bamboo Curtain Country! David Jung of Los Angeles and Makoto Hagiwara of Japan claimed to have made the first Fortune Cookie  in two cities, San Francisco and Los Angeles in 1918.

Quite interesting, right Prochiz Lovers? Until now, this cookie has been produced, especially in Kyoto City, including Indonesia. Well, if you want to taste it, Prochiz Lovers can immediately stock up on Prochiz cheese and follow the easy steps to make it!
